How do we begin?
If you don't have a brief already, we'll talk bout what you need from the photos: where are they going and what impression you want to convey. Tell me everything, I want to hear it all. If you don't have a mood board, don't worry I can make one - this bit is collaborative, feel free to add to it! Get excited about what we're about to create!
Now I know what you want and how I can help you, I can offer you a fair and accurate quote. Don't be afraid, you're investing in your business and it's money well spent.
Let's set a date! I take 50% upfront to secure the booking, if you need to change the date please do so more than 48 hours before hand. If weather is a factor we'll discuss that and make contingency plans.
How do I prepare for the shoot?
Based upon the mood board and what we discussed I will brief on how to dress and any props.
After the shoot?
You can just relax, I'll get busy sorting and editing our masterpiece. If requested I'll send a selection for you to choose your favourites from up to the agreed number, if you want any after that of course you can purchase them. I then apply the final edits to the ones you choose and deliver them in a digital format.

Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern all photography services provided by Catherine Langton, trading as Kate Vice Photography ("the Photographer", "I", "me", "my"), to the client ("the Client", "you", "your"). The Photographer specialises primarily in event photography, with portrait sessions offered on occasion. By booking a shoot, paying a deposit, or otherwise confirming an engagement, the Client agrees to be bound by these Terms.
1. Bookings and Confirmation
A booking is only confirmed once the Client has agreed a shoot date, brief, and fee with the Photographer, and any deposit requested has been received. Details of the shoot — including date, time, location, duration, and scope (e.g. event coverage, portrait session) — should be confirmed in writing (by email or equivalent) before the shoot takes place.
2. Payment Terms
Full payment is due within 30 days of the invoice date, which will typically be issued on or shortly after the date of the shoot.
Payment is accepted by the methods specified on the invoice. Please use the invoice reference provided.
Late payment may incur reasonable administrative charges and statutory interest in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, where applicable.
Where a deposit has been agreed to secure a booking, this will be confirmed in writing at the time of booking and deducted from the final invoice.
3. Client Cancellation Policy
The Photographer reserves time, and in the case of events often turns down other work, to hold a confirmed booking. If the Client needs to cancel or postpone a confirmed shoot, the following charges apply, calculated from the date written notice of cancellation is received to the scheduled date and time of the shoot:
Cancellation within 48 hours of the scheduled shoot: 100% of the agreed fee is payable.
Cancellation within 7 days (one week) of the scheduled shoot: 50% of the agreed fee is payable.
Cancellation with more than 7 days' notice: any deposit paid is retained to cover administrative and opportunity costs; no further fee is payable.
Where possible, the Photographer will try to accommodate a request to reschedule rather than cancel outright, subject to availability. Rescheduling is offered at the Photographer's discretion and does not automatically waive the charges above.
4. Photographer Cancellation and Emergency Substitution
In the rare event that the Photographer is unable to attend a confirmed shoot due to an extreme emergency (such as serious illness, injury, or a comparable unforeseen circumstance beyond her control), the Photographer will do her utmost to arrange a suitably capable substitute photographer to fulfil the booking in her place.
If a suitable substitute cannot be arranged and the shoot cannot proceed as a result, the Photographer will not take payment for the shoot, and any deposit already paid by the Client will be returned in full. This is the extent of the Photographer's liability in such circumstances.
5. Copyright and Usage Rights
In accordance with the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, the Photographer is the first owner of copyright in all images created during a shoot, both during and after the engagement, unless copyright is expressly assigned in writing signed by the Photographer.
The Client is granted a licence to use the delivered images for the purposes agreed at the time of booking (for example, personal use, or the organisation's own promotional and internal use in the case of events).
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the Client may not sell, sublicense, or claim copyright or authorship of the images, and must not alter or heavily edit images in a way that misrepresents the Photographer's work.
The Photographer retains the right to use images for her own portfolio, marketing, website, and social media, unless the Client requests otherwise in writing (for example, where privacy or confidentiality is a concern) prior to the shoot.
Any additional or extended usage rights beyond those agreed at booking (such as commercial licensing or extended reproduction rights) may be subject to a separate fee, to be agreed in advance.
6. Event Photography — Additional Notes
For event bookings, the Client is responsible for providing the Photographer with a clear brief, schedule, and any necessary access or accreditation in advance of the event. The Photographer will use reasonable skill and judgement to capture key moments as briefed, but cannot guarantee coverage of every individual moment at a live, fast-moving event, particularly where multiple things occur simultaneously or access is restricted by the venue or organisers.
Where members of the public or attendees are photographed as part of general event coverage, the Client is responsible for ensuring appropriate notice has been given to attendees in line with the event's own privacy arrangements, where required.
7. Portrait Sessions — Additional Notes
For portrait sessions, the Client should communicate any specific requirements, preferred locations, styling, or shot list in advance. The Photographer will offer professional guidance on posing and locations but the final selection of images for editing and delivery remains at the Photographer's discretion, based on technical and artistic quality.
8. Delivery of Images
Edited images will be delivered within a reasonable timeframe following the shoot, as agreed with the Client at the time of booking. The Photographer will select and edit a representative set of images to a professional standard; unedited or rejected images (for example, duplicates, test shots, or technically unusable frames) are not included as part of the delivery.
9. Liability
The Photographer will take all reasonable care in the performance of her services. The Photographer's liability for any loss or damage arising from the shoot, howsoever caused, shall not exceed the total fee paid by the Client for the relevant booking, except where liability cannot be excluded or limited by law (such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
The Photographer will take reasonable precautions to back up and safeguard images following a shoot but cannot guarantee against loss due to circumstances beyond her reasonable control, such as equipment failure, data corruption, or theft.
The Photographer holds professional photography insurance, including public liability cover, for the duration of her business operations.
10. General
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between the Photographer and the Client in relation to the shoot, unless varied in writing and agreed by both parties.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and both parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
